Victory: “And we made a lot of changes. Those that came into the team played well”
Espanyol sitting back: “They could have caught us on the break, looking to get in behind. We played well. When you’re 1-0 up you can never relax. We deserved a third, because there was a penalty on Cristiano.”
42 consecutive games scoring: “The team is working well, there’s a great spirit and the players are very good, which is the most important thing, but we haven’t won anything yet. Now we have two tough away games. We’ll try to make the game against Valencia count. Today it was difficult to score two goals but we showed a lot of patience in our play. I hope we can keep it up until the end of the season.”
Gareth Bale
Bale and Morata: “I’m happy because Bale is back with us in the best possible way, scoring a goal. He was really desperate to get back with the squad. Both of them, like the rest of the squad, are plugged in and that’s good for the team.”
Ronaldo over-eager to score: “I don’t see it like that. I think he helped the team a lot, as he did against Napoli. I’m not worried. I know he’ll make the difference in key moments."
Squad back to full strength: “The players are all eager to help the team when their moment comes. It’s important that they feel that way. We know we are going to need all of them.”
Bale impact: “There isn’t anybody like him. He’s a special player but everybody chips in and does their bit.”
