Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs says his compatriot Gareth Bale is “going nowhere” from Real Madrid, stressing that he can’t see the Welshman swapping the Spanish capital for the Premier League anytime soon.
The 27-year-old forward has been linked with Giggs' former club Man United since signing for Los Blancos in a then world-record €100m transfer from Spurs in 2013.
However, Bale penned a new contact in October until 2022 and Giggs says his former Wales teammate will likely stay in Spain rather than return to England.
Bale "happy" at Real Madrid - Giggs
"He looks happy at Real Madrid. I don't think he's going anywhere at the moment," Giggs told BBC Wales Sport. "From a fan's point of view, it would be great to see him back in the Premier League.
"The United fans would love to see him at Old Trafford. You talk about the big clubs and United is up there. While he's happy there [Madrid], I can't see him leaving."
Bale, who won two Champions Leagues since joining Real Madrid, made a trumpupahnt comeback from three months put after ankle surgery on Saturday, scoring in the 2-0 win over Espanyol.
