Soares: Barcelona linked with summer move for right-back
Southampton and Portugal player Cédric Soares is thought to have caught the eye of Camp Nou chiefs - and a host of other outfits too.
Southampton right-back Cédric Soares has emerged as a summer target for LaLiga champions Barcelona, according to UK newspaper The Telegraph.
Problem position since Alves exit
Barça have struggled to replace Dani Alves since his departure for Juventus last June, with current first-choice Sergi Roberto failing to fully convince.
Los Azulgranas have also seen fellow right-back Aleix Vidal ruled out long-term by a serious ankle injury suffered at Alavés ten days ago.
Soares interesting Barcelona and others
And Soares' displays in the Premier League have reportedly caught the eye of Barça scouts, while it's thought his fee would be affordable.
He is additionally said to be attracting interest from a number of other clubs.
The 25-year-old, a Euro 2016 winner with Portugal last year, has made 48 appearances for Southampton since moving to St Mary's in 2015.
Following Vidal's injury, Barça are also allowed to sign a right-back now - it must be a Spain-based player or a free agent - but are yet to bring anyone in.
