The Catalan media reacted with glee in Thursday's papers to Real Madrid's defeat to Valencia, a result which has breathed new life into the LaLiga title race.

Real seen off at Valencia

Los Che beat Real 2-1 in the sides' rearranged league fixture on Wednesday night, seeing Los Blancos spurn the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Zinedine Zidane's men remain one point clear of second-placed Barcelona, with just one more game in hand over their Spanish championship rivals.

Sport: "Thank you!"

"Thank you!" exclaimed the front page of Catalonia-based daily Sport, which branded Real's reverse a "disaster" for the capital outfit.

Barça, who are away to Atlético Madrid on Sunday in their next LaLiga outing, "could go top this weekend", the publication also noted.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo led with a play on words on the scene of Valencia's victory over Madrid, trumpeting: "MEstalla La Liga" (the phrase "estalla La Liga" loosely translates as "the race for the title is blown wide open".)
