Celta Vigo reached the Europa League quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years on Thursday after a 2-0 second-leg win at Krasnodar sealed a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Second-half goals by Hugo Mallo and Iago Aspas in Russia saw Celta, LaLiga's last remaining representatives in Europe's second-tier competition, progress from the round-of-16 tie and take their place in the last-eight draw.

Schalke in turnaround, Man United through

Elsewhere, Schalke 04 recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 and knock out fellow Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchenglach on away goals, while Manchester United edged FC Rostov 1-0 at Old Trafford to advance.

Spaniard Juan Mata's 70th-minute strike for United gave the Premier League men a 2-1 aggregate triumph over their Russian opponents.

Lyon, Ajax, Anderlecht, Besiktas and Genk qualify

Lyon held on to eliminate Roma 5-4 on aggregate despite a 2-1 defeat, and former European trophy winners Ajax Amsterdam and Anderlecht also went through.

Besiktas hammered Olympiakos 4-1 (5-2 on aggregate) despite having Vincent Aboubakar, scorer of their first goal, sent off six minutes before half time.

Belgians Genk beat countrymen Gent 6-3 on aggregate after a 1-1 stalemate.
