Leganés released a statement this Tuesday, stating that the club membership of seven fans who tried to illegally re-sell their seats for the match against Real Madrid next Wednesday will be revoked.

Sporting match provoked same problem

In addition to these seven, three fans have already had their season tickets blocked after they tried to re-sell tickets for the match against Sporting Gijón. In the days leading up to that crucial match for Los Pepineros, the club announced that it would adopt a ‘no-tolerance approach’ towards those who tried to re-sell their tickets through illegal channels.

The high demand for tickets among Sporting supporters was welcomed by those few Leganés locals who sought to make a quick buck. Yet the majority of Lega supporters were quick to denounce them, and emphasise that they are not long-term ‘socios’, but those who have arrived since Leganés’ promotion to La Liga.

Unequivocal club statement

“The club advises that it will not allow anyone to sully the reputation of an exemplary fan base, and monetise their feelings for the club. These fans have no place in Butarque, and will be automatically expelled”, read the statement by the Madrid-based team.
