BAYERN-REAL MADRID

Real Madrid's team bus will be escorted to the stadium by police

Real Madrid's pre-match itinerary has been revised and the team bus will be rigourously searched by bomb-sniffing dogs. Police presence for the game has also been increased.

Update:
Real Madrid's team bus will be escorted to the stadium by police

Munich's federal police informed this morning that there are no indications of any threats which might jeopardise tonight's game at the Allianz Arena between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Nevertheless, security measures have been rigourously increased following the explosions which rocked the Borussia Dortmund team bus as it made its way to Signal Iduna Park for last night's quarter final. Investigators are looking into a theory that Islamic terrorists could have been behind the attack. Under the circumstances, police presence for tonight's match in Munich has been increased from 370 to 450 officers.

Bomb-sniffing dogs to search Real Madrid's team bus

Despite augmenting security measures, Real Madrid have also taken steps to guarantee their own safety. According to El País, the team bus which will carry the players to the stadium will undergo a thorough search by agents and bomb-sniffing dogs before it sets off on the 5 kilometre journey to the stadium from the team hotel at 18:30 hours.

And for the first time in their visits to Germany, Real Madrid will be given a police escort to the stadium. The players have been advised to sit away from the bus windows, El Mundo reports, to avoid any incidents like the one which Marc Bartra suffered yesterday, in which he required hospital treatment on wounds suffered by shards of broken glass. The Madrid squad was escorted back to their Hilton Park hotel base by police after they had trained at the Allianz Arena yesterday evening.

This morning, Real Madrid officials will hold a meeting with UEFA's match officers and stadium delegates to go over all of the security measures in depth.
