NFL Draft: Leonard Fournette to the Jaguars, an absolute beat in the backfield

Leonard Fournette has been selected as the number four pick in the NFL Draft. The running back from LSU. Mel Kiper does not put him in the same bracket as Elliott from the Cowboys because he does not have the same blocking ability but is worth a top 10 or 15 pick.

Let's start with the bad. He runs very high, exposes the ball and tends to generate fumbles. He is not skilled enough to avoid contact at the line of scimmage and can not read the field very well. He is not a runner who can play on third down immedaitely.

And now, everything else. He is a beast of a running back. A running back with the body of a linebacker. He runs with violence, with fantastic speed and has unlimited potential to improve his blocking and integration into the rest of the game.

He is a beast that has more ability than you might expect and while it would be a reach to say he could define a generation, he is not far off. he has been judged very harshly but what we do know about him, it is hard not to fall in love. There are not too many more instances of running backs with as much power, who can help out an offense as Leonard Fournette.

Leonard Fournette quote: "Either he hits me or I hit him. And I don't like being hit."
