James Rodríguez moving to Manchester United deal lurks closer with major UK bookmakers suspending betting on the Colombian player joining the 'Red Devils' as speculation increases that a move could be announced as soon as this Sunday.
Colombian outlet Radio Caracol announced that the transfer would be confirmed on Sunday night after Real Madrid complete their 2016/17 LaLiga campaign away to Malaga.
The EPL, a new challenge for James
The Colombian international arrived at Real Madrid after a sensational World Cup in 2014 in which "Los Cafeteros" were eliminated in the quarter finial stages of the competition. James left Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco in exchange for 80 million euro on a six year move. The midfielder will have completed three years of the deal when he abandons the Santiago Bernabeu and embarks on a new adventure with United.
James has struggled to guarantee a starting place in the Real Madrid XI in his time at the Bernabeu. The indisputable Bale, Benzema, Cristiano trident has hampered his progression at the club and if anything his performances in recent months have been erratic. In his first season with Madrid, the Colombian bagged 17 goals and provided 18 assists in 3.526' of playing time. His second campaign (2016/16) saw eight goals and ten assists in just 1.889 of football. This season his dividends are improving with 11 goals and 13 assists in his 1.860' of Real Madrid first team action.
