The four possibilites for Neymar should RFEF refuse to send his transfer
The French Federation have not yet recieved the transfer for Neymar to play with PSG and there are a number of things that could happen between now and Sunday against Guingamp.
Neymar has been a PSG player for over a week but one question remains: can he make his debut with the club on Sunday at Guingamp? He has trained with the squad and is officially a PSG player but is lacking the Certificate of International Transfer.
The deadline for this to be sent and recieved is closing in and Neymar might have to wait another week before he can make his official ydebut for the French club. Here are the four scenarios facing Neymar and PSG this weekend.
Scenario 1 | The transfer arrives on time
The Spanish Federation has seven days to send the transfer to the French club. The Spanish federation can only decide not to send the transfer is "the contract between the club and the player did not expire or a mutual agreement between the two clubs was met". If the transfer does not arrive by Thursday, Neymar could have to wait another week.
Scenario 2 | The transfer arrives late, but before Sunday
If the RFEF send the transfer after the deadline but before Sunday, Neymar can still be registered and can play against Guingamp. The transfer, however, will have to be sent before Sunday in this instance.
Scenario 3 | On Friday 18, still no transfer
If, by Friday 18 of August, there is still no transfer, In this situation, PSG can register Neymar and he can play provided their is no complaint from Spain. he will be able to play on the 20th against Toulouse if this happens and he can play for PSG for a year. If there is no complaint after a year, he is officially a PSG player.
Scenario 4 | RFEF refuse to send the transfer
If RFEF refuse to send the transfer and allege conflict between Barcelona and PSG, FIFA would get involved. A panel dealing with player disputes would then have to help resolve the situation and issue provisional measure until it was sorted out. That could drag on for two months but could still see Neymar playing for PSG.
