Sergio Llull out of Eurobasket after suffering ACL tear

The worse news possible was confirmed early this morning - Sergio Llull has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will miss Spain's involvement in Eurobasket. The Real Madrid shooting guard is expected to be out of action for the next six to seven months. "The player will return to Madrid on Thursday to undergo a fresh series of tests which will determine his recovery time. Llull will not be part of the Spain squad at EuroBasket", the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB)explained in a statement this morning.

Llull sustained the injury after twisting his right knee in Wednesday's friendly against Belgium. He was taken to the Quirón Salud Hospital in Tenerife, where tests confirmed damage to the ligament. The player remained in positive mood, despite the setback and tweeted: "I'll be back! Thanks for all of your get well soon messages"..
