Real Madrid team news
Zinedine Zidane has brought in Asensio and Lucas Vazquéz for the second leg. Modric returns from suspension to take the place of Casemiro in midfield, with fellow Croatian Mateo Kovacic keeping his place in the side.
Isco and Bale drop to the bench. Zidane is perhaps reluctant to select certain players for three matches in a week, with the LaLiga opener against Deportivo coming up on Sunday.
Cristiano Ronaldo is another high-profile absentee. He came off the bench in Barcelona, scored a superb goal, was sent off, and pushed the referee. It was quite the cameo. The Portuguese has been hit with a five-match ban; one match for the red card, and a further four for pushing the referee.
Real Madrid XI: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Modric, Kovacic, Kroos; Lucas V, Benzema, Asensio.
Barcelona team news
Andrés Iniesta is ruled out through injury, which comes as a big blow for Ernesto Valverde. Sergi Roberto takes his place in midfield, but he has big boots to fill. Iniesta was a stand-out performer for Barça in the first leg.
Mascherano and Gomes also come in for Vidal and Deulofeu.
