Piqué during Super Cup loss: Real Madrid "taking us to cleaners"
Sevilla - Barcelona: Copa del Rey quarter-final
Gerard Piqué conceded after Wednesday's Spanish Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid that Barcelona have been left playing catch-up on their arch rivals.
And it has emerged that the central defender wasn't pulling any punches in his assessment during the match at the Bernabéu, either.
Cameras capture dejected Piqué's analysis
Spanish television cameras caught Piqué lamenting Real's superiority from the dugout after being substituted in the 2-0 loss, which saw Los Blancos seal a 5-1 aggregate victory and lift the trophy for the 10th time in their history.
"For f**k's sake," the 30-year-old can be seen saying in images aired by Cuatro on Thursday, "these guys are taking us to the cleaners".
Piqué: "First time I've felt like they're better than us"
Speaking post-match, Piqué told Esport 3: "In the last nine or ten years, it's the first time I've felt like they're better than us.
"We have to look to turn that around."
