Napoli show interest in Denis Suárez

Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri is reported to be a long-time admirer of the Spanish midfielder and a potential deal could help Barcelona reduce their wage bill.

Barcelona's overhaul

Denis Suárez was not initially among those names identified in Barcelona's large-scale clearout at the close of this summer's transfer window. Nevertheless, the Spanish midfielder's name is rarely one of the first on the team sheet and is currently on Napoli's radar, with the Italian club making inquiries into a possible move.

Maurizio Sarri needs cover for the left side of midfield in a position in which only Callejón offers options. The Napoli coach has reportedly been monitoring the Barça midfielder for some time.

Denis joined Barcelona from Manchester City and enjoyed loan spells at Sevilla and Villarreal before Los Azulgranas triggered a clause to buy the midfielder for three million euros. The player's buyout clause currently stands at 50 million euros, but the Catalan club would undoubtedly accept a considerably lower fee.
