Alexis Sánchez asks Chile for permission to talk to City
The Arsenal forward has requested flexibility while on international duty and reports suggest Pep Guardiola may throw Raheem Sterling in as part of deal.
With the transfer window due to close on Thursday night Alexis Sánchez has asked his national team boss Juan Antonio Pizzi for flexibility during the international break as he seeks to push through a move from Arsenal to Manchester City.
According to various Chilean media outlets, among them La Tercera, Sánchez approached Pizzi after Chile’s first training session to request a certain level of wiggle room terms of the team sheet for Thursday’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay in case he has to race back to England to take care of any paperwork.
Sterling and Agüero linked as Arsenal makeweights
Meanwhile, reports in the UK suggest that City will make an offer of 20 million pounds plus Raheem Sterling to land Sánchez from Arsenal. Sky Sports also postulated the inclusion of Sergio Agüero in the deal, with the Argentina striker not guaranteed a first team place due to the emergence of Gabriel Jesús. However, that possibility is remote as City have maintained that Agüero will not leave the club this summer.
