Spain seven points from qualifying for 2018 World Cup
After beating Italy 3-0 at the Bernabéu, Lopetegui's side need two wins and a draw against Lichtenstein, Albania and Israel.
Spain's convincing 3-0 win over Italy has put them on track for qualification for Russia, with the side needing seven points from their remaining three games.
Spain are now on 19 points, three ahead of Italy, at the top of Group G. They still have to play Lichtenstein away (on Tuesday 5 September), Albania at home (6 October) and Israel away (9 October). With two wins and a draw Spain will see themselves at Russia 2018.
Italy expected to win remaining games in Group G
For Spain to need seven points, Italy would have to win all their remaining games, which they would expect to do, facing Israel, Macedonia and Albania.
Where Spain and Italy end up tied for first place in the group overall goal difference would be looked at first to decide the winner, before the head to head, which is in Spain's favour after a 1-1 draw in Italy and the 3-0 tonking at the Bernabéu.
