Arda Turan's proposed move to Galatasaray has hit a snag at the last minute as the Turkish attacker does not want to leave Barcelona. When all signs pointed in the direction of a split between the player and the LaLiga side, Turan has vetoed a move despite the fact that he knows Ernesto Valverde does not have him in his plans.

The Turkish transfer window closes on Friday night as the options for both Barcelona and Turan start to dwindle. Galtasaray, linked with Turan for most of the summer, reportedly had a loan deal agreed with Barca for two years for the player as his contract and therefore wages are guaranteed until 2020 at the Camp Nou.

Turan moved to Barcelona two years ago for €40 million and missed the first six months due to a restriction on registering players, similar to Atletico's current ban, that was placed on the club by FIFA. The 30-year-old never got off the ground and has battled for playing time without ever truly convincing in the azulgrana shirt.
