Sergio Ramos has become the latest Real Madrid player whose look has set social-media chins wagging, after the club captain posted a photograph of himself sporting a decidedly eye-catching pair of socks.
In recent days, Isco has caused a stir with a new haircut, Cristiano Ronaldo has flexed his muscles for the camera, and Lucas Vázquez's style has drawn mickey-taking from team-mates Marco Asensio and Nacho Fernández.

Not to be outdone by his colleagues, Ramos today took to Instagram with an image of himself relaxing at home following Saturday's LaLiga win at Alavés, wearing shorts, a T-shirt - and, pulled high up his shins, white socks featuring large, red cherries and bright green stalks.
His daring sartorial choice has brought a raft of comments, with (at the time of writing) 2,200 users posting their reactions, of which most focus on the socks.
Although given the thumbs-up by many - "Love the cherry socks", wrote one user, with another agreeing, "I love your unique style" - some were less impressed.
"Those socks look worse on him than a pair of pistols strapped around Christ's waist," quipped one commenter, while a fellow Instagramer declared simply: "You look ridiculous".
