"Diego Costa is in great spirits" says Atlético boss Simeone
Atlético's coach says the team have put Wednesday's defeat to Chelsea behind them and are only thinking about Leganés: "It's going to be tough, it always is".
Diego Simeone says Atlético have put Wednesday's defeat to Chelsea behind them and are now thinking solely about their next rivals - Leganés. The coach added that Diego Costa, who completed his first full training session with the squad this morning, is in great spirits.
Atleti's goalscorers not delivering: "These are just situations which arise as a consequence of the game. Carrasco, Correa and Griezmann have all scored and Vietto, Koke and Saúl have come close... It's about having bodies present in the penalty area"
Diego Costa: "He's in great spirits - he's upbeat and happy"
Gameiro: "He's working hard just like the rest of the strikers, in the same conditions and with the same enthusiasm. He was given a few minutes against Sevilla but didn't get to play against Chelsea; he's in the list for the Leganés match and he has a chance to play tomorrow"
Gabi: "Everything I needed to say to him has been said - about what the team needs and the squad"
Filipe ruled out and Lucas, doubtful: "We have other options. We have Sime (Vrsaljko), Juanfran... we'll sort something out".
Mood within the team: "We've had trips to Rome, Valencia, Bilbao, we played Sevilla at home... All of that involved a lot of effeort. With Chelsea, it was our turn to lose because they were the better side and now we have to learn from our mistakes. Next up we have Leganés, a tough game against a team who are working well and who have a coach is very good at reading games. They've brought in players who have made them stronger. I see a team who are determined to compete. These games always require a lot of effort. We'll see where we can punish them - they'll only let in three goals...".
