Roberto Carlos: "Hodgson's stint at Inter Milan destroyed me"
The former Real Madrid defender explained how Roy Hodgson lost the UEFA Cup because of Hodgson and how his stay at the Italian club destroyed him.
In an interview with planetfootball.com, Roberto Carlos explains how his season under Roy Hodgson at Inter Milan nearly ruined his career. The Brazilian also explained that his return to Real Madrid under Fabio Capello revitalised him.
Inter Milan: "Hodgson's stint at Inter destroyed me. He put me in midfield and I believed it was something that could have ruined my career with Brazil. It's not to say I didn't have a good relationship with him, but he didn't know much about football. When Inter lost the UEFA Cup final against Schalke in 1996, it was solely Hodgson's fault."
Real Madrid: "Capello was different, very different, and when I signed for Real Madrid it was because of him. He is the most important manager I had in my career."
