Argentina and Russia meet after ISIS threat on Lionel Messi
Jorge Samapoli and Chiqui Tapia, the president of the AFA, met with the ambassador of Russia after the poster depicting Lionel Messi behind bars surfaced.
Argentina Manager, Jorge Sampaoli and the president of Argentina's football association, Claudio Tapia, met with the Russian ambassador to the country, Viktor Koronelli following the threat of the terrorist group ISIS, which seemingly pointed out Lionel Messi as a target.
The Argentinian national team will play friendlies in Russia on November 11th against Russia and three days later against Nigeria. The two games will take place at Luzhnikí Stadium in Moscow as security concerns arise. The president of the AFA, Chiqui Tapia posted photos of the meeting between the ambassador and Sampaoli to his Twitter account.
The meeting came after a poster depicting Lionel Messi behind bars with a blood running from his eyes. Local press said that the meeting was to discuss the safety of the Argentinian team in Russia but the AFA did not clarify what the meeting was for.
