Unai Emery moved to dispel rumours of unrest surrounding Neymar in a press conference on Thursday after several Real Madrid players had in recent days suggested the Brazilian would be welcomed with open arms at the Bernabéu following reports of a rift between the PSG boss and the world’s most expensive player.

We are all in agreement: the club and the president are very happy with him, we want him to be successful here and he will remain at PSG,” Emery said.

Neymar joined the Parisian club for a world record 222 million euros last summer but in recent weeks it has been suggested that the Brazilian and his entourage have failed to settle in the French capital, leading to rumours of an imminent bid from the Bernabéu. The player himself moved to deny any settling in problems in a press conference while on international duty with Brazil.

All of the players are humans ahead of being footballers,” Emery stated. “I have spoken to Neymar, that’s what important, not hearsay. The adaptation period is different depending on each player and the speed with which it happens varies. We will do everything we can to help him to adapt as quickly as possible. But the most important thing is his performances on the pitch and the level he reaches.”
