Real Madrid, from feast to famine in just one year
A year ago Zidane's men consolidated their lead at the summit of LaLiga, now the side are 10 points off the pace and with a goals-shy "BBC" .
A year is a long time in football. Last Saturday Real Madrid finished an away Madrid derby in stark contrast to their situation in the 2016/17 campaign. Last seasons game at the Calderón was also played on match-day 12 of LaLiga but this time things are different for the Bernabeu outfit with only Isco's performances being one of the few positives for Zidane currently.
Last year at this stage of the campaign, Madrid's 0-3 away win in the derby coupled with a FC Barcelona draw saw Zidane's men pull four points clear at the summit of the table. At this point last season Madrid had six points more than now, were undefeated in the league and had bagged 12 goals more than their current haul of 22.

BBC drought
The lack of goals is a major concern for the Santiago Bernabeu club with goal-scoring proving to be an issue for the "BBC" trident who at this point last season were responsible for 17 goals (13 more than the 2017/18 season). Cristiano had bagged 7 goals at this point last season with his tally this campaign being the solitary strike against Getafe. Benzema's case is no better with the French striker having played 84 minutes more than his Portuguese striking partner and just has three goals to his name whilst Gareth Bale's season has been hampered through injury.

The four goals that Morata last year have been shared among Asensio and Isco with two a-piece whilst Ramos, Varane and Modric have yet to find the target.
