Villarreal boosted by Bacca's return ahead of Barcelona clash
The Colombian striker has left the gym and is back working out in the open air. Coaching staff will assess his chances of starring against Barça in tomorrow's session
Villarreal striker Carlos Bacca is battling against the clock to be decalred fit to play tomorrow's game against Barcelona. The player returned to train with the squad at the Ciudad Deportiva on Friday, after spending the four previous days working inside the gym with club physios.
Calleja to hold fire before making Bacca decision
Bacca pulled his left hamstring in last Sunday's game against Leganés, and while tests ruled out a serious injury, the player remains a doubt for the Barça game. Javi Calleja and his coaching staff have decided to wait until today to assess Bacca and determine whether he can be included in the squad list. Much of that will depend on how the player himself feels during today's session - Bacca told AS yesterday that "right at this moment, I'm feeling good, the sensations are much better".
