Jorge Almíron will not be allowed to manage Las Palmas after UEFA received all of the documentation outling the manager's experience in Argentinian and Mexican football. The decision, decided on by the Jira Panel, was taken because Almíron has not fulfilled the necessary amount of time that RFEF require to become a manager in LaLiga.

It brings to an end a soap opera-like storyline that lasted 10 days. Almíron has managed at Lanús, Independiente and Godoy Cruz but the total amount of time he has spent as the head coach only comes to 25 months with spells of eight months, which is considered a full season, along with seven and five months too.

On Tuesday, Las Palmas sent RFEF documentation outlining Almíron's time in Mexico, which include several shorter spells too. He managed Tijuana for a year but the rest, like Argentina, involve incomplete campaigns and shorter spells. In total, he has accumulated four years and three months as a manager based on the requirements. He also requested that he add the time spent taking courses and acting as an intern to his CV but that was deemed insufficient.

Jorge Almíron does not get his move to Spain and one of the best leagues in the world but it opens the door for Paco Jemez, who is believed to be very close to Las Palmas.
