Chicago Fire could be new adventure
The Spanish goalkeeper will leave Porto in the winter transfer window and the news has already reached the main American franchises. One club in particular that may have more sway with the Real Madrid legend is Chicago Fire, currently coached by ex-Atlético player, Veljko Paunovic, and with a star player like Sebastian Schweinsteiger. The city of Chicago is an attractive proposition for Casillas and his family, and that is one of the reasons that he may opt for them despite several suitors. Last year, the Illinois team didn't even qualify for the playoffs and feel the need for players of the stature of Casillas to make the jump forward.
Iker Champions League games could be done
In recent days, the Portuguese press have been reporting the imminent departure of Casillas. Given he is almost certain not to play any more part for Porto in the Champions League, and cannot add more games to his European Cup tally this campaign with another club, the goalkeeper has chosen to leave this continent and take a step down in his career. A few days ago, without going any further, Iker gave a nod to the MLS by congratulating Toronto for their title win.
