However, a potential Real swoop for Guedes remains at a very early stage, with Los Blancos yet to make any kind of firm move.

Meanwhile, Valencia have taken concrete steps towards holding on to the Portugal international winger, who has excelled since moving to Mestalla. It is thought that a fee of around 40 million euros has been proposed by PSG, who are keen to include a buy-back clause allowing them to recover Guedes' services if his encouraging form in Spain so far is followed by his definitive explosion.

What is less clear is whether PSG would quote the same asking price to Real Madrid, who the Ligue 1 club consider a natural predator and who would be unlikely to accept the inclusion of a buy-back clause.
