A shot put judge has died in the Czech Republic after a shot hit him in the chest at a regional championship, local media outlets report.
The incident happened on Saturday at an indoor competition in Prague. A young athlete threw the shot and the 76-year-old judge was unable to avoid it, according to Novinky.cz.
Medical staff at the event could not resuscitate the judge after he collapsed, and nor could the emergency services.
The competition was suspended and the police have opened an investigation in to the incident.
