Coutinho set for possible Barça debut on Thursday
If the Brazilian continues to evolve from his injury as planned, the new Barcelona player could make his debut in the claret and navy shirt against Espanyol.
Philippe Coutinho could make his FC Barcelona next Thursday in the second leg of their Copa del Rey tie at home to RCD Espanyol.
The Basque coach was questioned about a start date for the Brazilian in a Barça shirt and the manager affirmed: “I'm reluuctant to put an exact date on a start for Coutinho, but the evolution from the injury is very positive. He had a small muscular problem in his quadriceps which is a particular sensitive zone when striking the ball with power but I hope he's soon with us.
Upon being pushed by the journalist, Valverde replied: "Thursday is possible and I hope that today he can train with the rest of the squad".
