Lionel Messi is delighted with the season he's having so far. The Argentinean striker remains the leader of a Barcelona side which are going superbly in LaLiga, are in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and face Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals. And all with Leo producing memorable performances game after game. The player has discovered, in Ernesto Valverde, the ideal coach for his game, and Messi is optimistic about this season, saying, at a promotional event: "We're on the right track", and stressing that what he cares about is titles, not individual awards.

Messi and Valverde, a good match

As to Valverde, Messi said the arrival of the new coach had been "highly positive", stating "Valverde was clear from the start, he said what he wanted to and we adapted. It wasn't that different to what we'd been doing. We've made ourselves strong in defence and up front we've got players of amazing quality, who can get results".

Messi wants it all

In terms of the objectives for this season, Messi reaffirmed that it's titles he's interested in: "I said my objective isn't individual awards, but winning all the trophies possible. Hopefully we'll finish the season in the best way possible. We're on the right track. It's the same desire we have every season - to try and win everything".

Messi was also excited about the arrival of Coutinho and Mina: "The club tried to sign them in the summer. We're delighted they are finally here with us".
