2013. That was the last time that Barcelona failed to make it to the Copa del Rey final. Ernesto Valverde's team were as ominously good in the cup on Thursday night as they have been all season in LaLiga, sweeping Valencia aside to set up a final with Sevilla.

Coutinho came on as a half-time substitute and scored his first goal for Barcelona after four minutes on the pitch. Luis Suárez - his former team-mate at Liverpool - was the architect, driving down the left and delivering an inviting cross.

Suárez was at his tenacious best in the second half. With eight minutes remaining he robbed Gabriel and hurdled a challenge before squaring the ball for Ivan Rakitic to stroke in to the corner.
