FIFA confirm final squad submission deadline date
All participating nations are obliged to submit a preliminary 35-man-squad to FIFA no later than May 14th. The USA vs. Ecuador live and direct: Friendly FIFA Date
FIFA have announced the deadlines for all competing nations for the submission of the initial 35-man squad list and the final and definitive list of the players who will participate at the 2018 Russia World Cup.
May 14 is the final date for the competing federations to submit an initial provisional list which can feature no more than 35 players with the final and definitive 23-man squad list being submitted at the FIFA offices no later than June 4.
Once the list has been submitted, the only circumstances that can see a federation call-up an additional player is injury with a 24 hour window pre 2018 World Cup kick-off being permitted by each national team coach. The amendment will need to be accompanied by an independent medical analysis confirming the injury in question. Spain have a friendly game programmed for June 3 against Switzerland, one day before the final 23-man list deadline with Julen Lopetegui hoping no players incur last minute injuries.
