According to UOL Esporte, the PSG wing-back will team up with Cruzeiro striker Fred to buy a club in Portugal's second flight.

Dani Alves wants to buy a Portuguese second-division club

Dani Alves is planning to buy a club in the Portuguese second division. According to Brazilian publication UOL Esporte, the former Barcelona man will link up with Fred - currently of Cruzeiro - and both players' representatives for the venture.

Famalicao and Leixoes the clubs in consideration

Francis Melo - Fred's representative - and Fransergio - Dani Alves' representative - are already in Portugal to negotiate the purchase of a club.

Famalicao and Leixoes are the two clubs with which they are in talks. If a deal is reached, the two players and their representatives will become the principal shareholders. Famalicao are based in the north of the country, near Braga, while Leixoes is a district of Porto. Both are currently mid-table in the Segunda Liga.

A pathway for players from Brazil

The motivation for the purchase, from the perspective of Melo and Fransergio, would be to move their Brazilian clients across the Atlantic, before then securing them transfers to bigger European clubs.

Alves and Fred's compatriot, Ronaldo, has also expressed an interest in buying a second-division club, but he is focusing his attention on England and Spain.
