With just a few days to go until the return leg against PSG, the midfield pair are still absent but in good news for Madrid Marcelo was back out on the turf at Valdebebas.

Zinedine Zidane is still unclear over whether he will have his preferred midfield partnership of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric available for the return leg of the Champions League last 16 tie against PSG on Tuesday with the German and the Croatian both still working on their recoveries from injury.

During Friday’s training session at Valdebebas, the squad’s final workout before the match against Getafe on Saturday, Kroos and Modric were both absent, the former suffering from a ligament issue in his knee and the latter a muscular problem.

Marcelo back in boost for Zidane

In a boost for Zidane Marcelo, who has been one of Real’s better performers in 2018, returned to the pitch on Thursday after recovering from his recent injury and the Brazilian could be in line for a return to the squad for the match in the Bernabéu.

Kroos and Modric’s chances of making the squad for Paris will be assessed on Monday, the final session before the squad departs for the French capital. Zidane has already decided to hand his players a day off on Sunday.
