Clément Lenglet is fast becoming one of the key components in Vincenzo Montella's Sevilla side. A first choice at the back, the French central defender chatted to COPE Sevilla about the team's hopes in domestic and European competition with two massive games coming up - Saturday's clash with Valencia followed by a trip to Old Trafford to decide their Champions League Last 16 tie with Manchester United.

"We have a full week to prepare [for the United game] which is good because in recent games, we didn't have enough time to prepare properly. We know that the Valencia game is very important if we are to reduce the distance between us in the table. We have been working hard on strategies to see where we can hurt them and create goal-scoring chances. At home, we are very strong once we are in front", Lenglet explained.

Sevilla with worst defensive figures in the top half of the table

Inconsistent league form: "We all want to do well in all of the competitions we're in. We have conceded a lot of goals in some games and that has made us even more accident-prone. In the game against Atlético, I thought we were the better team for the first 30 minutes  but then we started committing the same old mistakes. That cannot happen at Sevilla".

Manchester United and catching Valencia in LaLiga: "I think we're ready for United, we are going to give everything we have out on the field because, apart from it being a huge game, afterwards there is an international break and that will give us a chance to recover. Taking fourth place in LaLiga? Of course it's possible to reduce the eight-point lead Valencia have over us. If we beat them, it will be just five points and that is not a big lead when you consider how many games are left. It's certainly feasible but it all means that we have to beat them on Saturday".
