Makro apologises to Real Betis after their cheeky crisp joke
Clearly someone at the Sevilla branch of the wholesale chain thought their sense of humour was going to be enjoyed by everyone...but their joke back-fried!

Football fan humour levels were tested in Sevilla on Friday as international wholesale supermarket chain Makro put up a sign that had a dig at one of the city's football clubs, Real Betis. Next to the green-and-white-club-branded potato crisps was a poster that seemingly aimed to mock their standing in LaLiga relative to that of their city rivals, Sevilla.
The second team in Sevilla
The sign read: "Crisps: the second team in Sevilla. Bag: 0.44 euros" - although the word for second 'segundo' was actually misspelled as 'sengudo'.
The large poster had gone relatively unnoticed for some time until it caught someone's attention who then took a picture and shared it on social media. Immediately after this the company started to receive messages from outraged Betis fans, many asking for the person responsible to be sacked from their job.
Makro apologised to the club and their fans explaining that it was a misguided attempt at a joke from one of their employees at their store in Bormujos, a town to the west of Sevilla.

This all happened on the same day as Sevilla manager Vicenzo Montella threw more mud at their rival club - without naming them directly - by saying that "the other team" would not be playing as important games as them, with high-flying Valencia and Manchester United next up for the Los Nervionenses.
Liverpool and Everton comparison
One Betis fan explained it to AS English as the same as if a store in England advertised Everton FC branded crisps as those by 'the second team in Liverpool,' or Aston Villa as 'the second team in Birmingham'.
