Balotelli: "PSG are at the same level as Guingamp"
The Nice forward laid into the Ligue 1 giants after their Champions League exit: "Money buys you players but it doesn't buy you a team."
Nice striker Mario Balotelli has launched an extraordinary attack on PSG after the Ligue 1 giants’ Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid, describing Unai Emery’s side as “a Ligue 1 team at the same level as Guingamp. The problem is that money buys players, it does not buy a team.”
In Balotelli's view, PSG’s 5-2 aggregate defeat against the reigning European champions “was completely deserved. It’s disgraceful that they have been knocked out of the competition so early.”
Balotelli denied Italy return under Di Biagio
Balotelli has netted 22 goals for Nice this season in 32 appearances but was not called up to the latest Italy squad announced by Luigi Di Biagio this week. It was widely expected that after goal-shy Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup, Di Biagio would hand the 27-year-old former Inter, Manchester City, AC Milan and Liverpool striker another call-up but it did not materialize.
