Albacete player 'stable' following third storey hotel fall
Alba's Pelayo Novo has been taken to a Zaragoza hospital following a fall from the third flor of the Abba hotel in Huesca where the squad were staying.
Asturian born Pelayo Novo who currently plays for Segunda division side Albacete has been taken to a hospital in Zaragoza following a third storey fall in the Huesca hotel where the first team squad were based ahead of their LaLiga 123 game against table topping SD Huesca.
The Manchego based side issued a brief statement following the incident:
"Our player Pelayo Novo was involved in a dramatic accident in the hotel where the team were based. He has now been taken to a hospital in Zaragoza and is reported to be in a stable condition. The player has been accompanied at all times by medical representatives from the football club and we will continue to offer updates on his situation. Albacete Balompié would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to SD Huesca for their help with the matter and to all other institutions who have expressed their support over the matter".
Albacete were scheduled to play Huesca at the El Alcoraz stadium this evening at 20:00 CEST and at 13:30 LaLiga confirmed that the ,match would not go ahead following the incident.
