Zinedine Zidane gave his appraisal of a job well done in Las Palmas as his team went home with all three points. The coach praised the efforts of those who don't usually get much of a chance to play and spek about the team's moment of form with Tuesday's Champions League quarter final against Juventus next on the agenda.

Strange second half

Complete performance going into Tuesday's Champions League tie: “Yes, we came here with the idea of gaining a result like this. We had a good first half, we scored. It was difficult for Las Palmas after that goal. We had the game under control but the second half was a bit strange with chances at both ends. It was a crazy match. We didn't score more goals even though we had chances to but we're happy with the three points”.

Happy with the players who don't play too often: “Yes, very happy with them. Vallejo - the centre-backs did well during the whole game and Achraf played well after coming on. Nacho came off as he felt something… We put in a serious performance with players who don't play regularly and that isn't easy to do”.

Nacho taken off

What has Nacho got? “I don't know, we'll wait until tomorrow to run tests. He's not too happy, he didn't feel comfortable. We took him off as a precaution. It's behind the knee, I think it's the hamstring. Hopefully it's nothing serious”.

Juventus will be different, says Zidane

Madrid are hitting form just at the right point in the season with Juve up next: “Yes, but that doesn't mean anything. We know it's just one game, we controlled it well and won but now we have to start thinking about Tuesday and that is going to be completely different. It's important to go into that game with a win but it doesn't mean anything. We have to go over there and put in a great game. We're not going to start speculating, we know we are in for a difficult game. Now we have to get some rest and recover the players who are out injured”.

Isco: “He had a few pains and stayed in Madrid”.

Bale: “I'm happy for him and that's that. We'll keep going”.

With Bale playing like he is, will it be difficult to leave him on the bench: “We'll see on Tuesday. I'm happy with his performance and that's that”.
