Abner's spell as a Real Madrid player has reached its end. The Brazilian left-back returned to the club where it all began for him, Coritiba, after three years with the Spanish side. According to the media in his home country, it was a free transfer, the same as when he arrived in Madrid from Estoril in Brazil.

The 21-year-old was signed for Ramón Martinez in July of 2014 to reinforce Real Madrid Castilla's defence and with the hope of eventually breaking into the first team. Los Blancos landed him ahead of other European clubs, who were circling around the defender and showing interest. Luck did not accompany him on his arrival in Spain, however, and he they seriously curtailed his performances. In his three seasons with Castilla, he played just 24 times due to injuries.

In August 2017, he was loaned to Estoril in Portugal where he tried to adapt without success in Liga NOS. He hardly entered into the manager's plans and played just 11 matches before February when the club decided to end the loan.
