One of the positives of social media is the ability to ask for help when it would otherwise have been impossible. Twitter has allowed a woman in Spain to take a step towards completing a pioneering Panini project.

Vázquez close to completing Liga Iberdrola album

María Vázquez took Spain by surprise on Friday with a tweet that showed her home-made album of football stickers for the Liga Iberdrola - the top level of women's football in Spain.

Vázquez is close to completing the full album after hours of dedication. "I've done more than 250 stickers with the help of photos and the clubs, a lot of effort, and hours spent," Vázquez said.

Her motivation for the labour of love is "to be able to give my daughters a sticker album with their idols in it, that I've printed and laminated myself. They love it. They identify with it. And I'm proud to be able to offer it to them."

Yet the first ever sticker album of female Spanish players is not quite complete. Vázquez is missing some photos and has asked for help from various Liga Iberdrola sides: Zaragoza, Albacete, Rayo Vallecano, Sporting de Huelva, and Madrid CFF.

Twitter immediately got to work to ensure that the dream of a mother and her daughters is completed.

This is not the first example of football sticker aficionados devoting time to their own albums. The 'Panini Cheapskates' - a couple from England - painstakingly drew every sticker from the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Euros albums to raise money for charity.
