Isco: Man City boss Guardiola "to go after" Real Madrid man
According to Mundo Deportivo, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are out to seal the summer signing of the Spain international midfielder.
Manchester City tried to sign Isco five years ago, but - despite having one foot at the Etihad Stadium - the midfielder suddenly ended up signing for Real Madrid instead. It was a deal done so swiftly that bosses of the Premier League club were left still clutching the reservation for the private jet that was supposed to take the then-Málaga man and his father to England.
Manchester City "want Isco to help them win the Champions League"
Now, on the eve of Real's Champions League final clash with Liverpool, Mundo Deportivo has reignited City links with Isco, claiming that the English champions' head coach, Pep Guardiola, is preparing to "go after" the Spain international.
"They want him to help them win the Champions League," reveals the sports daily's front page, which also leads with the Catalonia-based publication's interview with former Barcelona player Thiago Alcántara, who declares: "It's a source of pride for me that people compare me with Xavi and [Andrés] Iniesta."
Sport: Barcelona target Lenglet to reject Sevilla deal, Umtiti talks close
Sport, meanwhile, talks about Barça's plans to strengthen their defence with Sevilla's Clément Lenglet. "Agents of the Frenchman met with the Andalusian club to reject a new deal," says the newspaper, which adds that talks between the Blaugrana and current centre-back Samuel Umtiti are "getting closer to an agreement to extend his contract before the World Cup."
