Aguero wants to return to Atlético Madrid

Sergio Aguero is reportedly tired of his time at Manchester City, and the Blues would be willing to sit down with Atlético to discuss a possible return to Madrid.

Update:
Aguero wants to return to Atlético Madrid

As Atlético Madrid anxiously await Antoine Griezmann to decide on his future, the offers are reportedly coming in from world-class players who would be delighted to form part of Diego Simeone's plans for next season.

As reported by AS yesterday, PSG's Angel Di María has already contacted the Atlético coach to offer his services for next season. Now the latest to contact the club is Sergio Aguero, who has reportedly indicated that he is tired of his career at Manchester City, where he feels he is no longer an indispensable player for coach Pep Guardiola.

Aguero, a fitting replacement for Kevin Gameiro

Aguero's offer to return to the club has been well received by the Atlético board. Simeone would also approve, considering the Argentinean international would be a fitting replacement for Kevin Gameiro, who could be leaving the Wanda Metropolitano this summer. Aguero himself has indicated that he would like to review his terms with City, and it is likely that the Manchester club would be willing to sit down to negotiate with Atlético.

Aguero's honours with Atlético and Manchester City

After five years in Madrid, where he won a Europa League and European Supercup, Aguero left Atlético for City in the summer of 2011 for a fee 45 million euros. In his seven seasons in England, the Argentinean has been a stalwart of a Manchester City team that has become one of the greats of Europe, where he has collected three Premier League titles, one League Cup and a Community Shield.

Aguero has stated on several occasions his intention to finish his career at Independiente, the Argentinean club that nurtured him. But at 29, the striker would love to revive his career at Atlético Madrid before returning to his homeland. However the question is will 'Los Rojiblancos' faithful want him back, considering how sour his relationship became with the club around the time of his depature in 2011.
