Barcelona eye up Betis' Adán as replacement for Cillesen
Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and several other clubs are interested in Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adán.
With Antonio Adán set to depart Real Betis this summer, there are several clubs interested in signing the goalkeeper. And the lastest club that have shown interest is Barcelona. Second-choice keeper Jasper Cillesen will leave Barcelona this summer in search of more regular first team football, and the club have added Adán to their list of desirable replacements.
Both Betis and Madrid-born Adán want to make clear his future destination as soon as possible, and the club intend to have him moved on before the start of the preseason. The goalkeeper has also been of interest to Atlético Madrid, which would be an interesting option for Adán, who would fight for a first team place with Jan Oblak under the watchful eye of Diego Simeone. But despite Barcelona and Atletico’s interest, Adán may still not rule out offers from other clubs that would give him more of a chance to be a regular starter.
Betis will soon make official the signing of Espanyol’s Pau Lopez, who is set to become the first choice keeper at the Seville club; behind him in the pecking order will likely be Joel Robles, who will soon be released by Everton.
