Real Madrid: Odegaard heads for exit after Super Cup omission
Martin Odegaard is the only member of the first-team group not to have been named in the squad for Wednesday's clash with Atlético in Tallinn.
Julen Lopetegui has confirmed his Real Madrid squad for Wednesday's Uefa Super Cup in Tallinn, with Norwegian youngster Martin Odegaard the only member of the first-team group to have been left out.
Odegaard not in Real Madrid's 29-man Super Cup squad
Odegaard misses out despite the Real coach including all five of his goalkeepers in his 29-man travelling party - Keylor Navas, Thibaut Courtois, Kiko Casilla, Andriy Lunin and Luca Zidane - as well as injured duo Jesús Vallejo and Álvaro Odriozola.
Norwegian set for another loan move from Real
Barring the emergence of an alternative explanation, the 19-year-old's absence from the squad to face near neighbours Atlético Madrid offers a seemingly clear indication that he is heading for the Bernabéu exit.
Signed in December 2015 from Stromsgodset, Odegaard returned this summer from an 18-month loan spell at Dutch club Heerenveen, with his agent, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, telling a July interview with Norwegian media outlet Nettavisen: "When pre-season is over we'll sort out his future."
Linked with Championship clubs Villa and Derby
In recent days, English Championship sides Aston Villa and Derby County have been linked with loan moves for the attacker.
