Asensio hits form at the right time
The Madrid forward continues to prove his worth with the match winner against Espanyol and is starting to become a key player in Lopetegui's Madrid.
Scoring and creating
Marco Asensio has hit the ground running so far this season and is proving to be a key player for Real Madrid, having a hand in six goals in seven games, scoring one, providing two assists and winning three penalties which were all converted. With the deaprture of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, the Spain international has been given more game-time and is currently grabbing his opportunity with both hands.
Growing into the season
After being substituted in Madrid's heavy defeat to neighbours Atlético Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup, Asensio started to make his mark in the first game of the season against Getafe, teeing up Gareth Bale for Los Blancos' second in a 2-0 win. Against Girona in Matchday 2 the man from Mallorca won two penalties, converted by Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema, and gainst Leganés in the next game it was Asensio's cross that set up Benzema to make it 2-1, before he won another penalty, converted by Ramos once more, to make the scoreline a more comfortable 4-1.
