Vinicius: "Cristiano? I play alongside Modric, the best"

Real Madrid's young forward attended AS in the Brazil Under-20 camp and expressed his happiness at playing for the Spanish giants.

Vinicius Junior is the star attraction during the Brazil Under-20 squad's time in Chile and after setting up Rodrygo to score in the 1-1 draw in Rancagua this weekend, he told AS that he is overjoyed to be at Real Madrid and feels that this international break is helping him to improve his game and return to the Spanish capital at the top of his game.

Being with the best

Playing for Real Madrid, the European champions, whilst still a teenager: “It's always good for a footballer to play alongside the best players and being at a club like Real Madrid is priceless. It's a dream for any young kid, but here I am focused only on my duties with the national team and it gives me the chance to chat to Brazilian players and share our experiences”.

What can you bring to Real Madrid's attack? “It will all come in time. For now, I have to keep a cool head; I'm happy to have been able to make a contribution in a couple of games. There is nothing better than making your debut at the Bernabéu against Atlético de Madrid. I'm very happy to be part of such a great squad. I think I'll go back to Madrid a better player after these international matches”.

Learning from Modric and Benzema

Missing the chance to playing alongside Cristiano: “I would have liked to have played alongside him, but I'm playing alongside Modric who is the best in the world and then there's Karim Benzema. They are the ones who have taken me under their wing and they're the players I want to play alongside".
