Stade de Reims launch Real Madrid inspired third kit

The French side faced Real Madrid in one of the most talked about European Cup finals in 1959 played in Stuttgart.

Reims' French forward Remi Oudin (2R/12) celebrates with teammates after scoring his team's first goal during the French L1 Football match between Rennes (Stade Rennais FC) and Reims (Stade de Reims) at Roazhon Park in Rennes

French side Stade de Reims traveled to Rennes this afternoon in Ligue 1 wearing their new season third strip. The kit manufactured by French sports manufacturer Hungaria is all white and features a purple trim.

The kit pays homage to the 1959 European Cup final when the French side faced a Real Madrid side featuring legends such as Di Stefano, Gento and Kopa in the German city of Stuttgart.

Real Madrid ran out 2-0 winners on the night but the game cemented a unique relationship between both clubs.
