Kylian Mbappé world's most valuable player: CIES
The France and PSG forward leads the list of the most expensive footballers ahead of Harry Kane and Neymar, according to the stats site.
The CIES Football Observatory has placed France and PSG forward Kylian Mbappé at the top of its monthly list of the most valuable players across Europe’s top five leagues, estimating the 19-year-old’s worth at 216.5 million euros.
According to the CIES, Mbappé’s transfer value increased by 23 million euros month-on-month, moving the forward ahead of Harry Kane (197.3 million euros) and his PSG teammate Neymar (197 million euros). Liverpool’s Mo Salah (173 million euros) and Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho (171.3 million euros) complete the top five.
Ronaldo and Messi slip down the money list
Ederson (keeper), Samuel Umtiti (central defender), Trent Alexander-Arnold (full back) and Dele Alli (midfielder) are valued by the CIES as the most expensive players in their positions.
LaLiga is represented by Antoine Griezmann (ninth), Raphaël Varane (ninth), Thibaut Courtois (fourth), Jan Oblak (eighth), Saúl (sixth) and Lucas Hernández and Álvaro Odriozola (ninth and tenth respectively).
Leo Messi (sixth) is valued at 170.6 million euros while Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo does not feature in the top 10 with a value of 123.6 million euros.
