Guardiola would have made Neymar the world's best - Alves
Dani Alves has been speaking ahead of the "Take the ball, Pass the ball" premiere and says his Brazilian teammate would now be at the very top with Pep.
Dani Alves is clear about Neymar Jr, his teammate at PSG, being one of the world's best footballers. However, he says that working with Pep Guardiola would have already rocketed him to the very summit of the game.
Alves lauds the Pep+Neymar potential
Speaking to Goal ahead of the launch of the new documentary about Guardiola's generation-defining Barcelona side, 'Take the ball, Pass the ball,' Alves said that even that team would have improved with his compatriot in it.
"Both Neymar and Barcelona would have been even better had he been part of that team coached by Guardiola, without a doubt. Both would have been better.
"It would have been like myself and Barca, a perfect fit. I believe that if Neymar had been coached by Guardiola, he would have done even bigger things.
"He would already have been the best in the world now, without a doubt, there is absolutely no doubt about it."
Alves went on to say that after Guardiola came into the Catalan club he gradually put things into place, and there was an immediate feeling that something special lay ahead.
Neymar and Guardiola have not yet worked together in the same club, although the PSG forward has said on a number of occasions that he would relish the opportunity to do so.
"I have always wanted to work with Guardiola, he said in May of this year, "It's different, I arrived [at Barca] after he left. I really want to work with him."
